A Review Paper on Emulsi on Liquid Membrane

Abstract

Emulsion liquid membranes are found to be one of most efficient methodologies in the field of separation and work on the principle of concentration difference. The key parameters for wide acceptance and use are high selectivity and high enrichment factors. The distinguishing feature is that the resulting droplet size is controlled primarily by the choice of the membrane and not by the generation of turbulent droplet break-up. This article provides a review on the membrane emulsification process for the dyes removal. The present review highlights the latest emulsion liquid membranes for the separation of dye from textile industry waste water. The study on membrane synthesis methodology is proved to be the key factor in membrane stability and hence extraction efficiency. The study reports the case study on use of ultrasound for membrane preparation and extraction efficiency. Overall the methodologies for preparation of liquid emulsion membranes and membrane stability are found to have great potential in the field of waste water treatments.
