Abstract: In response to nutrients, intestinal L‐ and K‐cells naturally secrete glucagon‐like peptide 1 (GLP‐1). GLP‐1 regulates postprandial blood glucose by increasing insulin secretion, slowing down gastric emptying and inducing satiety.
