Abstract:In this article we present a novel staggered semi-implicit hybrid finite-volume/finite-element (FV/FE) method for the resolution of weakly compressible flows in two and three space dimensions. The pressurebased methodology introduced in [1, 2] for viscous incompressible flows is extended here to solve the compressible Navier-Stokes equations. Instead of considering the classical system including the energy conservation equation, we replace it by the pressure evolution equation written in non-conservative form.… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
