A study of complex phosphovanadomolybdates [PV x Mo12−x O40]−(3+x) by reversed-phase HPLC and capillary zone electrophoresis

Abstract: A fundamental possibility of using ion pair reversed phased HPLC and capillary zone electro phoresis (CZE) for the study of polyoxometalate (POM) solutions has been demonstrated on an example of phosphovanadomolybdates of the composition [PV x Mo 12 -x O 40 ] -(3 + x), where x = 1-3 and the possibility of the separation of the products of their synthesis has been shown. It has been found that the modification of the inner surface of a capillary by alkyl groups C 1 and C 8 results in an increase in the resoluti… Show more

“…As a high‐performance liquid‐separation technique, CZE has advantages of high efficiency and sensitivity, rapid analysis, extremely low sample volume requirements, and the ability to utilize several detection methods; thus, it has been used widely to analyze trace amounts or complex samples. There are only a few reports of studies of the separation and analysis of POMs through CZE . Here, we performed a systematic study on the CZE analysis of the equilibria of pentamolybdobis(phenylphosphonate) under various experimental conditions through the variation of concentration, counterion, and buffer pH, as well as the interactions of pentamolybdobis(phenylphosphonate) in solution with amino acids (AAs) and cyclodextrins (CDs).…”

[35][36][37] is shown in Figure 1 The equilibrium was established out of the CZE capillary by incubating the sample in a vial for a period of time.…”
