Introduction. Environment and its indicators as health risk factors have been widely studied for a long time. The atmospheric air and factors polluting it are confirmed as the most important environmental factors that influence human’s health. Nevertheless, people spend up to 90% of their time indoors. Indicators of indoor environment have another origins and they can also have another scales. At the same time, these factors can be influenced easily, thus decreasing their negative impact on health. The aim of our review is to study information about impact of physical factors of indoor environment on human organism and methods of maintaining them within safe level. For analysis we chose several factors depending on their prevalence, opportunities to measure their levels and availability of the methods to correct them. Materials and methods. The search was conducted using PubMed, Google Scholar and Elibrary data bases. Fundamental literature, such as legislative act, were used. Results. Nowadays, disease prevention via elimination of risk factors influence on human health is gaining more and more attention. There are various devices that capture air indicators in houses and public buildings. Their use helps to maintain parameters within comfort level. We summarized information about the most important and wide-spread factors, their impact on health, methods for their measurement and solutions for their correction. Nevertheless, there are not enough devices which enable to monitor several important factors simultaneously. That problem leads to using different devices and each of them need calibration and technical service. Conclusion. Nowadays the impact of environmental factors on human health is widely studied and new information about this problem appears constantly. Dynamic monitoring of indicators of environmental factors is necessary for decreasing negative influence on health. An important step towards simultaneous monitoring of the most significant indoor factors is developing of technical solutions which can remove the duty to service many devices separately. These technical solutions can also propose methods for maintaining these factors within safe levels.

The article studies the effect of polynorbornene (PNB) in the composition of PNB with Norman 747 LV plasticizer (RC) on the curing characteristics of the rubber compound and the physico-mechanical, dynamic, dielectric properties and the thermal behavior of vulcanizates based on a combination of isoprene, α-methylstyrene-butadiene, and nitrile-butadiene rubbers. It is shown that vulcanizates containing PNB in the composition of the RC had lower conditional tensile strength, hardness, and tear resistance compared to the vulcanizate of the base version of the rubber compound. Studies of dynamic mechanical analysis indicate that an increase in the content of RC, and hence PNB, in the rubber compound contributes to an increase in the mechanical loss factor (tanδ) and a decrease in the storage modulus of vulcanizates. It was found that vulcanized rubber, containing 24.0 parts per hundred of rubber (phr) (8.98 wt. %) PNB as part of the RC, is characterized by stable physico-mechanical, improved vibration-absorbing properties, as well as increased dielectric parameters. This rubber compound can be used as a base for rail fasteners for railroad tracks.

Evaluation of the Effect of Combination Therapy on Treatment of COVID-19: A Cohort Study

COVID-19 is a new disease for which a definitive treatment has not yet been proposed. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the effect of combination therapy on the treatment of COVID-19 due to the importance of finding an appropriate treatment for this epidemic disease. Materials and Methods: This two-center cohort study included 175 confirmed COVID-19 inpatients at two medical centers designated for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in Qom and Qazvin, Iran. In this study, four different groups of drug regimens were studied which included G1 (azithromycin, prednisolone, and naproxen), G2 (lopinavir/ritonavir, azithromycin, naproxen, and prednisolone), G3 (hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, naproxen, and prednisolone), and G4 (levofloxacin, vancomycin, hydroxychloroquine, and oseltamivir). It should be noted that G1, G2, G3, and G4 treatment regimens were used on 48, 39,30, and 77 patients, respectively. Results: The study participants included 175 confirmed COVID-19 patients with mean±SD age of 58.9 ±15.1 years, out of whom 80 (46%) patients were male and the rest were females. The results indicated that the hospital stay period was significantly shorter in the G1 compared to other groups (G1:5.9±2.4, G2:8.1±4.2, G3: 6.3±1.7, and G4: 6.4±2.9; [P-value=0.008]). It should be noted that pulse rate, oxygen saturation, hemoglobin, and platelet count (PLT) changed significantly during the study in four treatment groups; however, a significant change in temperature, creatinine, and white blood cell (WBC) was observed only in G3, G4, and G1 groups, respectively. The number of ICU admissions and deaths were not statistically significant among the patients who received the four treatment regimens (P=0.785). Based on the results, the history of ischemic heart disease, baseline oxygen saturation, WBC, neutrophil, lymphocyte count, and C-reactive protein (CRP) are the risk factors for the prolonged hospital stay in COVID-19 patients. Conclusion: The obtained results in this study indicated that the combination of azithromycin, prednisolone, and naproxen is the most effective regimen for the treatment of COVID-19, compared to three other combination treatment regimens.
