A Study of the Effect of Absorbing Materials in the UHF Sensor

Abstract: An ultra high frequency (UHF) sensor antenna with metallic shell for PD detection has been proposed and experimentally studied in this article. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed phantom is considerably improved when the metallic shell is filled with radiation absorbing material, which is based on the simulation results by Ansoft HFSS.
