A study of the inelastic scattering of pions from^40,42,44,48Ca and⁵⁴Fe

Abstract

Angular distribution data for the inelastic scattering of pions on top and on either side of the Δ resonance from 40,42,44,48Ca and 54Fe are studied within the framework of the zero-range distorted wave born approximately (DWBA) method using parameters of the local optical model, and the corresponding deformation parameters are also extracted.
