A study on awareness of HIV among first year MBBS students in a private Medical College, Kerala, India

Abstract: India has the third largest HIV epidemic in the world with 2.1 million Indians accounting for about four out of 10 people infected with the deadly virus in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a UN report. 1 According to National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), the total number of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) in India (2015) was estimated at 21.17 lakhs.
