Abstract:This study aims to determine and characterize the antioxidant properties of Musa balbasiana colla flower and seeds and Musa Paradisiaca. Hepatoprotective potential of Musa balbisiana colla seeds was also assessed. The ethanolic extract of flower and seeds of the samples were evaluated for antioxidant assay using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrl-hydrazyl (DPPH), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), 2,2-azino-bis (3-ethlbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), Nitric oxide (NO) assays.
