Indonesia memiliki banyak budaya lokal dalam bidang kelautan yang mulai hilang akibat adanya dampak globalisasi, salah satunya adalah perahu Cadik yang terdapat di Desa Bimorejo Banyuwangi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis konsep fisika kesetimbangan pada perahu Cadik. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan content analysis yang terdiri dari tujuh tahapan, meliputi Define the research question, define the population and samples,define the units of analysis, decide the codes, construct the categories, conduct the data analysis, dan create inference. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat konsep kesetimbangan pada perahu Cadik. Badan perahu dan cadik memberikan gaya yang sama besar dan berlawanan, sehingga memenuhi syarat kesetimbangan Σ dan cadik yang terdapat pada sisi perahu memiliki massa dan panjang yang sama, sehingga memenuhi syarat kesetimbangan Σ = 0. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan sudut pandang baru bagi guru dan siswa agar pembelajaran fisika lebih bersifat kontekstual dan bermakna.

In this study, we conducted onboard noise measurement experiments under the conditions of anchoring, sailing, casting, and hauling to determine whether noise generated in the G/T 1000-ton fishing trawler triggers zone-specific effects upon vessel operation. It was shown that most accommodation areas of the trawler comfortably met the IMO acceptance criteria regardless of the sailing condition, but most of the stern area, where the fishing actually occurs, exceeded the permitted limit of 75 dB (A). Furthermore, the statistical analysis revealed a significant difference (p < 0.05) only in the bow and the stern, which are both open areas. In the case of the former, improvements were deemed possible due to the influence of the fluid emission noise from the seawater piping in the bow, and the acceptance criteria were also appropriate. However, in the case of the latter, a significant difference was seen in hauling conditions, and on-site analysis confirmed frictional noise from hydraulic oil in the trawl winch and between the chains and the metal hull, leading to the conclusion that various improvements are required, such as the mandatory wearing of safety equipment by workers and stricter legal standards for permitted noise levels.

To evaluate manoeuvring performance of merchant ships, the mathematical modeling group (MMG) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations are used. However, it is difficult to use the MMG to evaluate the manoeuvring performance of fishing vessels, thus research using CFD simulations is necessary. Also, since the course-changing and turning ability is crucial in fishing operations, a rudder design suitable for fishing vessels is necessary. This study designs a rudder using National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) airfoil sections and evaluates its manoeuvring performance. A CFD model is used to evaluate the manoeuvring performance of the fishing vessel, and turning and zig-zag tests are conducted. The effectiveness of using CFD simulations based on Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations to assess the manoeuvring performance of fishing vessels was validated. No significant difference was found in the manoeuvring performance for hull forms and rudder designs for course-changing ability. However, the original hull form showed superior turning performance. Among five rudders with varying aspect ratios and shapes, the rudder with 5.5% aspect ratio had the best turning performance. Regarding the rudder design for fishing vessels, NACA airfoil was employed, and a rudder aspect ratio of 5.5% based on the immersed hull side area is recommended.
