A study on the location of emergency supplies reserve center in Guangxi for tropical cyclone disasters

Abstract: On average, Guangxi experiences 2 severe tropical cyclone disasters yearly. A large number of disaster victims need governments at all levels to raise enough emergency supplies to carry out effective relief. However, there is no proper reserve center for tropical cyclone disaster storage and collection of emergency supplies in Guangxi, so it is urgent to choose a suitable location to build the Guangxi tropical cyclone disaster emergency supplies reserve center. The data of 16 severe tropical cyclone disasters … Show more

“…One is the P-median model, P-center model, coverage location model, multi-objective programming model and the optimization model of the above models, and the intelligent algorithm is used to solve; The other is to transform the site selection problem into a multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problem by combining MADM and using TOPSIS [4], Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) [5] and other methods to evaluate and sort. For the former, the single-objective programming model [6,7] is studied based on the coverage problem. Among them, Wu et al [6] studied the site selection model of emergency material reserves at the national and state levels.…”

“…The P-center location theory is introduced, and the variable neighborhood search algorithm is used to determine the quantity of material storage in the coverage area, so as to obtain the global optimal solution. Yue et al [7] adopted the problem of collective coverage, on the premise of ensuring the delivery of emergency materials to disaster areas at the lowest cost. In this paper, an improved GIS based central site selection model of emergency material reserve is proposed.…”
