A Surface Modifier for the Production of Selectively Activated Amino Surface Groups

Abstract: The formation of self-assembled monolayers with the possibility of selective activation is an important goal of surface chemistry. In this work, a new surface modifier which creates amino surfaces based on aminopropylsilatrane (APS) with a protected amino group was obtained. The utilization of protected APS allows producing a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) and obtaining reactive surface amino groups at distinct times. Furthermore, a precise selective deprotection with a further modification of the activated am… Show more

“…They were then stored at 4 and −20 °C for comparison. It has been reported in the literature that APTES can be sensitive to moisture and light; , therefore, we stored the slides in the dark with a desiccant. For the storage in cold conditions, after retrieving the slides from a fridge or a freezer, we waited for approximately 30 min before opening the sealed bags so that the slides were brought to room temperature in a dry environment, avoiding condensation on the slide surface.…”

“…A new silatrane with a protected amino group was obtained in Ref. [ 92 ]. It was used to design a sensor ( 44 ) ( Figure 12 ) sensitive to trinitrotoluene (electronic nose) for an ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (ISFET).…”
