A Survey of artificial immune applications

Abstract: The artificial immune system (AIS) community has been vibrant and active for a number of years now, producing a prolific amount of research ranging from modeling the natural immune system, to tackling real world applications, using an equally diverse set of immune inspired algorithms. We review the current immune applications of the AIS approach, and propose a number of suggestions to the AIS community that can be undertaken to help move the area forward. Despite many successes of AIS techniques, there remain … Show more

“…The recognition of antigen, the activation of lymphocytes and effector phase are the three main phases regarding adaptive immune system [23]. Human immune system has some characteristics, such as uniqueness, self/non-self-discrimination, learning, memory, which make it appropriate model to use in development of computational models [8].…”

“…It is based on the principles of maturity of T-cells and self/non-self-discrimination in human immune system [33]. Negative selection based algorithms have been successfully applied for anomaly detection, time series prediction, image segmentation and hardware fault tolerance [8,34]. Immune network consists of immune cells, which are capable of communicating and recognizing antigens and other immune cells and taking part in the process of stimulating and activating the other cells in case of nonappearance of antigens [33].…”

“…AIS has various characteristics such as: distributed, robust, autonomous, flexible, uniqueness and many more. In [3] Zheng et. Al presents the survey of several current applications of AIS, and provides reflections on the prominent areas of the domain that can be used in future for dealing with real-world problems.…”

“…Al presents the survey of several current applications of AIS, and provides reflections on the prominent areas of the domain that can be used in future for dealing with real-world problems. It can use in different fields: machine learning, pattern recognition, computer virus detection, anomaly detection, optimization, robotics and etc [3]. In computer security, adaptability property of artificial immune system can be used to learn the intrusions and develop signatures of these intrusions.…”
