A Sustainable Closed-Loop Supply Chain Decision Mechanism in the Electronic Sector

Abstract: In a closed-loop supply chain for electronic products, the manufacturer's priority is to enhance the residual value of the collected end-of-use product and decide whether to outsource this business to a retailer, a third-party service, or retain it exclusively. In this paper, we constructed three models to study the decision mechanism in a closed-loop supply chain, with different players selected to collect the used product. By comparing the three models, we characterized the conditions under which the manufac… Show more

“…Brandenburg (2015) optimized a supply chain configuration for a new consumer product through trade-offs between carbon emissions and financial value [14]. In practice, the low-carbon feature is used in the supply chain design of the construction industry [15], the electronic sector [16], the garment industry [17], etc.…”

“…According to the power structure of the supply chain members, there are three kinds of supply chain structure, i.e., no channel leader (model N), manufacturer as channel leader (model M), and retailer as channel leader (model R). In the next section, we apply the differential game theory to solve the open-loop control strategy [29][30][31][32][33][34][35].…”

“…Because of the progress of science and technology driving the rapid development of the economy, the renewal of consumer products, especially consumer electronics, is getting faster and faster, and more waste products are eliminated and abandoned, which has produced a great burden on the environment [1,2]. Furthermore, with the continuous deepening of the green supply chain management concept, more and more enterprises are beginning to adopt reverse logistics and reverse supply chains to recycle used products to new ones [3].…”
