A Temperature‐Responsive Boronate Core Cross‐Linked Star (CCS) Polymer for Fast and Highly Efficient Enrichment of Glycoproteins

Abstract: Fast and highly efficient enrichment and separation of glycoproteins is essential in many biological applications, but the lack of materials with high capture capacity, fast, and efficient enrichment/separation makes it a challenge. Here, a temperature‐responsive core cross‐linked star (CCS) polymer with boronate affinity is reported for fast and efficient enriching and separating of glycoproteins from biological samples. The temperature‐responsive CCS polymers containing boronic acid in its polymeric arms and… Show more

“…The enrichment recovery of Carr@PEI@mSiO 2 @G@ Fe 3 O 4 on the glycopeptides was evaluated via the isotope labeling method. In brief, IgG was dealt with trypsin in H 2 16 O and H 2 18 O to get 16 O-and 18 O-labeled IgG digests.…”

“…At present, the main enrichment methods that have been developed and used include lectin affinity method [14], boronic acid method [15,16], hydrazine chemical method [17], hydrophilic interaction method, and so on [18]. Among them, it is worth mentioning that because the hydrophilic interaction method has significant advantages such as low bias to different glycopeptides, better compatibility, high throughput, simplicity, and efficiency, it is widely used in the enrichment and separation of glycopeptides [19][20][21][22][23][24].…”

“…modified the boronic acid groups simply on the surface of magnetic nanospheres based on the click chemistry and applied them to separate and enrich glycoproteins, which had outstanding performance and promising potential in real biological samples. Chen et al . prepared temperature‐responsive core cross‐linked star (CCS) polymer to apply for enrichment of low abundant glycoproteins, using reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer polymerization via an ‘arm‐first’ method.…”
