A tied Fermi liquid to Luttinger liquid model for nonlinear transport in conducting polymers

Abstract: Organic conjugated polymers demonstrate great potential in transistors, solar cells and light-emitting diodes, whose performances are fundamentally governed by charge transport. However, the morphology–property relationships and the underpinning charge transport mechanisms remain unclear. Particularly, whether the nonlinear charge transport in conducting polymers is appropriately formulated within non-Fermi liquids is not clear. In this work, via varying crystalline degrees of samples, we carry out systematic … Show more

“…C 14 -PBTTT films exhibit evident discrepancies between in-plane and out-of-plane molecular stacking characteristics, the semicrystalline films feature large randomness in in-plane molecules' orientations, but a relatively ordered layerby-layer stacking characteristic along out-of-plane direction. 8,33 While in the other two doped polymers, considerable randomness of molecular arrangements exists in both in-and out-of-plane directions. 34 Therefore, combined with the Figure S8, it is reasonable to assume that there is a close connection between HFM //-⊥ and polymer molecular orientation.…”

“…The d -spacing of the (010) plane was calculated to be 3.72 Å, which also corresponds to the distance of π–π stacking. 20 The periodic scattered dots in the SAED pattern indicate the high crystallinity of the as-prepared sample. Meanwhile, the distance between adjacent fringes calculated from Fig.…”
