“…Cap‐assisted endoscopy comprising a cap fitted to the tip of an endoscope was first introduced in 1992 by Inoue et al . This technique increased the ease of mucosectomy, after which transparent CAE has been widely used to facilitate hemostasis, foreign body removal, magnifying endoscopy, screening colonoscopy, and to improve visualization of lesions that are difficult to access. This was feasible even in patients in whom conventional endoscopy was not helpful .…”
