A two-echelon supply chain model with price and warranty dependent demand and pro-rata warranty policy under cost sharing contract

Abstract: In this article, a two-echelon supply chain model with a single-vendor a single-buyer is considered. The vendor's production process is imperfect and the market demand is assumed to be dependent on the buyer's selling price and warranty period. The vendor consents to return a definite portion of the buyer's purchase value, if any product is found defective within the length of warranty. The refund value or the warranty cost is considered as a function of the warranty period and the buyer's selling price of the… Show more

“…With stochastic demand and a backup supplier, Giri et al [33] applied game theoretic models for a closed-loop supply chain to investigate the dual-channel waste recycling problem. Considering the impact of price and warranty policy on demand, Samanta et al [34] proposed two Stackelberg game models to derive and optimize the optimal decisions of the supply chain with a cost sharing contract. The present application of game theory provides a good reference for the establishment of games between the LSI and LSP with different risk preferences in this paper.…”

“…Guchhait et al 27 developed a setup cost reduction and quality improvement-based imperfect production model under shortages and warranty policies. Samanta and Giri 28 studied warranty and price-sensitive demand in a supply chain model called the contract of cost sharing. Ruan et al 29 considered the learning effect policy to find the optimal preventive maintenance and warranty policies for new product design.…”
