“…There are another two cases in literature of infants with BHT associated to herbal extract consumption (a 45‐day‐old that was using an anti‐colic herb extract with the same ingredients as our patient's and a 2‐month‐old that was taking an herbal instant tea for infants with camomile, balsam, mint, fennel, anise, thyme, dextrose and maltodextrine) 2,5 . Furthermore, BHT is strongly connected to elderly age, with studies finding a prevalence of approximately 40% in individuals over the age of 60, but some cases have been observed in children as young as 2‐week‐old (with no identified or suspected cause) 1,3 .
