Abstract:A unifying framework in defining and measuring resilience has been an intense research topic in recent years. It is proposed that resilience could be represented by a set of functions comprising the intrinsic capacities of a system, the effectiveness of recovery, and the extrinsic random shock process. Through this perspective, the key constituents in achieving resilience are identified as reliability, robustness, recovery, and reconfigurability. This naturally leads to a new resilience framework with multiple… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
