With pyridinium zwitterionic ligand H 2 LCl 2 (1,1'- ((2,3,5,6-tetramethyl-1,4-phenylene)bis(methylene))bis(4carboxypyridin-1-ium)chloride) as the main connection point, a novel Cd ( ) coordination polymer namely) and a partially deprotonated HLClO 4 •H 2 O were obtained by room temperature volatilization method. X-ray diffraction studies reveal that HLClO 4 •H 2 O crystallizes in the monoclinic P2 1 /n space group, with a bowl shape partially deprotonated HL + cation as the main structure, and the ClO 4 anion which balances the charge just exists outside. When the ligand reacts with CdSO 4 8/3H 2 O, CP 1 crystallized in the triclinic P-1 space group with two distinct Cd ( ) centers was obtained. Abundant hydrogen bonds produce the 3D supramolecular structure of CP 1. Elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectrum, thermogravimetric analysis, solid-state uorescence properties and CIE analysis of CP 1 were studied. Results indicate that the CP 1 has good thermal stability and has potential applications in blue luminescent materials.
