“…Moreover FT-IR spectrum of NA-CQDs exhibited characteristic absorption peaks at around 1659 and 1700 cm − 1 which are belong to C = C and C = O stretching vibrations bands. Furthermore, nicotinamide had been successfully functionalized on the carbon quantum dots due to the appearance of bending vibration of C-NH and stretching vibration of C-N at 1380 and 1550 cm − 1 , respectively [4,25]. The results obtained from FT-IR are in agreement with other characterization and clearly con rm that nicotinamide-functionalized CQDs are successfully synthesized.…”

“…Vitamin B12 (VB12), also called as cyanocobalamin, plays a vital role in normal metabolism of enzymes, lipids and carbohydrates, nerve cell maintenance, DNA synthesis and red blood cell formation [1][2][3][4]. For adults, the recommended dietary allowance of VB12 are about 0.40-2.80 mg per day [5].…”

“…19 A variety of precursors have been used to synthesize CDs hydrothermally or solvothermally, such as carbohydrates, 20 proteins, 21,22 and many organic acids including amino acids and citric acids. [23][24][25][26] Meanwhile, ultrasonication represents a gentler method compared with microwave irradiation or hydrothermal/solvothermal approaches, although examples of this technique are rare. 27 For example, Zhou et al reported a unique type of excitation-independent yellow-emissive CDs (Y-CDs) with citric acid and o-phenylenediamine (OPD) applied as precursors.…”

“…CDs are zero-dimensional and sphere-shaped nanoparticles possessing diameters less than 10 nm [63,64]. Various approaches have been applied for preparing diverse types of CDs, e.g., laser ablation [65], solvothermal [66], hydrothermal synthesis [67], microwave-assisted [68], arc discharge [69], acidic oxidation [70], and more chemical and physical approaches [71,72]. Additionally, CDs display a desirable prospect for various applications, such as biological imaging [73], chemical and biosensing [74][75][76][77], targeted drug delivery [78], pharmaceutical analysis [79], and catalysis [80,81].…”
