AAAS: An Anonymous Authentication Scheme Based on Group Signature in VANETs

Abstract: As special ad-hoc networks, vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) support vehicles to communicate with each other via opportunistic wireless links. In order to protect privacy of drivers, vehicles registered in VANETs are required to authenticate and communicate with surrounding vehicles or roadside infrastructure anonymously. However, due to high-speed driving and wireless environment, it is vital to propose a privacy protection scheme that is able to balance security and efficiency. Consequently, this paper pro… Show more

“…However, the proposed scheme is found to be vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) attacks when false data is injected. Similarly, Jiang et al [140] propose an Anonymous Authentication scheme based on group signature (AAAS). AAAS allows a good level of performance since it adopts a pseudonym mechanism and identity based group signature to eliminate the overhead generated by the management of public key certificates.…”

“…This distributed architecture (TA-RTA-RSU) has the advantage of low communication and computational overheads ( Jiang, Ge & Shen, 2020 ). This architecture is analogous to the Edge-Fog-Cloud computing architecture that solves many issues related to IoT services.…”
