“…The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) defines diversity in reference to student pharmacists as individuals "with backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences that reflect the diverse communities they serve" while the American College of Clinical Pharmacists (ACCP) advocates for diversity to encompass "not only race and ethnicity but also socioeconomic status, rural and urban background, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability level, and other life experiences." 9,10 For the context of this commentary, "cultural diversity," adds another layer to the concept of diversity. Culture can be defined as a fluid, multivariable process "through which ordinary activities and conditions take on an emotional tone and a moral meaning" for individuals.…”
