Abstract:In dusty plasmas, the formation of nanoclusters marks the beginning of the coagulation stage, leading to the rapid generation of larger particles. In this work, we present an overview of the interaction between silicon nanoclusters (SNCs) of about 1 nm diameter within the framework of density functional theory (DFT), taking into account chemical, van der Waals, and multipolar electrostatic interactions. Two types of SNCs are considered: particles composed entirely of silicon (Si30, Si40, Si50, Si60) and a part… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
