“…It has had particular utility in two dimensions. This includes calculations of eigenstates in supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories [56] and φ 4 theory [57,58,59,60,61], as well as the early applications to Yukawa theory [12], φ 3 and φ 4 theories [62,63,64], QED [65], and QCD [66].…”

“…The reduced auxiliary equation, from the second equation in (187), is 1 6 Figure 5: Mass-squared eigenvalues for odd and even states in the broken-symmetry phase, in units of µ 2 , from DLCQ calculations with resolution K, from [59]. The values of the coupling constant λ are quoted in units of µ 2 , where µ is the bare mass of the constituents.…”

“…We discuss here selected recent results obtained with these techniques applied to light-front quantized scalar field theory in 1 + 1 dimensions [19][20][21]. For this application, we did not need to invoke the full effective Hamiltonian apparatus since it proved sufficient to work with the bare Hamiltonian for our physics goals.…”

“…Using the Discrete Light Cone Quantization (DLCQ) Hamiltonian (box normalized plane wave basis with both periodic (PBC) [20] and anti periodic boundary condition (APBC)) [19,21] we investigated non-trivial topological structures through the example of the broken symmetry phase of the two dimensional φ 4 theory. Upon diagonalizing the bare Hamiltonian as a function of increasing basis size, we found clear evidence for degenerate ground states which is both a signature of spontaneous symmetry breaking and mandatory for the existence of kinks.…”

“…We compared the DLCQ results for the num-ber density of partons in the kink state and the Fourier transform of the form factor of the kink with corresponding observables in the coherent variational kink state. We have also carried out similar investigations using PBC [14].…”
