Abstract: Background Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic autoimmune inflammatory disease which presents heterogeneous clinical manifestations. Patients with SLE develop autoimmune response mediated by T and B cells that are manifested by the production of cytokines and autoantibodies.
