Abstract:Exosomes are small extracellular vesicles (40-150 nm in diameter) secreted by cells and initially proposed as a mechanism to eliminate cellular waste. More recently, exosomes have been reported to participate in cancer metastasis because of their ability to mediate local and distant cell-to-cell communication. Furthermore, exosomes create cancer-favored microenvironments, potentially enhancing cancer metastasis. However, it is unknown whether exosomes interact with E-selectin, an adhesion molecule expressed by… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
