Abstract:Background: Mutations in the tumor suppressor gene Adenomatous Polyposis Coli (APC) are found in 80% of sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC) tumors and are also responsible for the inherited form of CRC, Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP).
