Abstract P2-01-09: Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in the venous drainage of the breast in patients with primary breast cancer

Abstract: Background: CTCs are shed from tumors and circulate in the peripheral blood after passing through the drainage vein. Axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) provides access to the lateral thoracic vein which flows directly into the axillary vein.
