Abstract PD2-05: Evaluation of sentinel lymph nodes with high-frequency ultrasound: Correlations to histopathology

Abstract: Purpose: The sentinel lymph node (SLN) is biopsied during breast conservation surgery (BCS) since it is the first site of metastasis for breast cancer. If malignant, axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) may be performed to remove additional nodes in and around the affected breast, limiting the spread of the malignancy.
