Abstract WP154: Bihemispheric Modulation of the Motor Cortex by Single-session Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation During Training in Subacute Stroke Patients
Abstract:Introduction:
Non-invasive transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) can induce polarity-specific changes in cortical excitability. Compared to unilateral anodal tDCS over the non-dominant motor cortex (M1), dual-hemispheric tDCS to the M1 may further accelerate motor reaction of the target hand and alter excitability of the corticospinal tract (CST). However, the effects and individual variability of bi-hemispheric tDCS to the M1 during motor training remain largely unclear in healthy and str… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
