Access to Deposits as a Stage of Mining Works

Abstract: An extremely important role in the underground method of mining deposits is the type of access, which is the initial stage of the mining operations. The main feature of mineral deposits is their exhaustiveness and the inability to restore resources. This necessitates the rational management of deposit resources, especially the minimization of resource losses during exploitation. This article presents information on the mining area and methods of access the deposits. In particular, attention was paid to the adv… Show more

“…According to Skrzypkowski et al [12], the choice of mine access should primarily consider factors such as the type of access structure (related to rock/deposit composition, length of transport routes, mining method, and volume of excavated materials). Additionally, the authors mention that the increase in natural hazards with mining depth, such as pressure on rock masses and climatic conditions, significantly influences the selection and placement of the access [12].…”

“…The article [2] considers the solution of a very urgent problem of effective completion of mineral reserves in quarries, the period of time and operation of which has ended or the operation of which is planned to be completed in the near future due to the extraction of minerals or minerals with unsatisfactory technical parameters. Economic indicators, that is, first of all, the value of the cost of production of 1 ton of minerals or minerals is large.…”

“…The block caving method, renowned in the industry as the "Underground Rock Factory" [1], offers economic benefits comparable to open-pit mining [5,6]. For deposits with low grades and large reserves, block caving is the preferred method of extraction [7].…”
