“…Moreover, five ‘short‐axis views’ have been proposed as a screening method for comprehensive fetal echocardiography. A large body of evidence now indicates that four‐dimensional (4D) sonography with spatiotemporal image correlation (STIC) can facilitate examination of the fetal heart and may also be used to evaluate CHD. STIC technology enables acquisition of a volume dataset of the fetal heart, and displays a cine loop of a complete, single cardiac cycle in motion.…”

“…Furthermore, the azygos vein and descending aorta diameters of the healthy fetuses were measured by 2‐dimensional sonography, but they were retrospectively analyzed by 4D STIC volumes for the 25 fetuses with malformations. However, 4D sonography with STIC has good agreement with 2D transabdominal echocardiography 24 . Another limitation may have been that the number of abnormal cases evaluated was rather, albeit not importantly, limited, including 25 fetuses with venous malformations related to the azygos vein or hemi‐azygos vein; however, these are indeed rare congenital malformations.…”

“…The Clopper‐Pearson method was used to calculate the 95% confidence interval (CI) for proportions. Interobserver reliability and repeatability were analyzed by the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC; ICC <0.40 indicated poor reliability, whereas ICC >0.81 indicated perfect reliability) . SPSS version 22.0 software (IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY) was used to perform the statistical analysis.…”
