Acetylcholinesterase

Abstract: the 5-position over that of the parent compound by coordination with cobalt(1n) cations. Studies are in progress to determine whether the difference in reactivity derives from reduction of the effective charge on the nitrogen or whether there is also an important degree of x-electron donation to the ring from the filled Co de orbitals.Phenazine 5-oxide undergoes nitration at the 3-(and to a minor extent the 1-) position; kinetic criteria show that the monocation (40) is the reactive speciesL331.[33] A . “…The conformational study of phosphoric acid esters has been mainly encouraged by the behaviour exhibited by these compounds in biological systems. In addition, owing to their biological activities and increasing industrial use in food manufacture and water treatment, and as antioxidants, anticorrosives, insecticides, detergents, oil additives, heavy metal ion-selective electrodes, ligands and resins, thiophosphorus compounds have attracted considerable attention (Bellamy & Beecher, 1952;Schrader, 1954;Corbridge, 1956;Engelhard et al, 1967;Pastor et al, 1988;Odabaşog lu & Gü mrü kçü og lu, 1993;Mastrantonio & Della V'edova, 2001;Xu & Katsu, 2001;Ibrahim et al, 2003). In the course of a systematic structural investigation of thiophosphorus compounds (Odabaşog lu et al, 1999;Yılmaz et al, 1998;Bü yü kgü ngö r et al, 1995;Odabaşog lu & Gü mrü kçü og lu, 1993;Odabaşog lu et al, 1992), the structure of the title compound, (I), was determined.…”

“…The importance of the two comparative terms (MSA overlap volume and Sll) suggests the existence of an optimal shape / conformation, which most likely mimics the receptor site on the AChE enzyme. The active site of the AChE has been determined to consist of an anionic and an esteratic region (30)(31)(32). In order for a potential inhibitor to exhibit activity, the shape/conformation must be such that the necessary interactions (Coulombic, hydrophobic, etc.)…”
