Abstract:Removal of vital and necrotic remnants of pulp tissues, microorganisms, and microbial toxins from the root canal system is warranted for ensuing successful treatment outcome. Irrigation plays a major role in achieving the same. The last few years have seen a spurt in technological advances in various irrigant activation devices. This article meticulously reviews the various irrigant agitation systems available, which assists in complete disinfection of the complex root canal system.
