Abstract: Objective. Phrenic nerve stimulation reduces ventilator-induced-diaphragmatic-dysfunction, which is a potential complication of mechanical ventilation. Electromagnetic simulations provide valuable information about the effects of the stimulation and are used to determine appropriate stimulation parameters and evaluate possible co-activation.
