Advanced technologies for muscle tracking provide easy access to identify and track muscle activity, often for the purposes of therapeutic interventions. The necessity of muscle trackers arises from the acute and chronic sources that disrupt neuromuscular control, resulting in an impaired ability to perform daily activities without assistance. In the context of human–machine interfaces, muscle trackers can serve as the “sensory” component, providing real‐time information to machines, such as exoskeletons and prosthetics, that can act upon such information for therapeutic and functional aid. Recently developed devices for muscle tracking rely on combinations of sensor modalities and algorithms to extract information from biosignals track muscle activity, or even extrapolate kinematic information, including gestures. However, a number of obstacles remain to be overcome to further facilitate the practical implementation of muscle‐tracking technologies, the most notable being real‐time analysis of biosignal data and extracting kinematic information from complex movements. This review attempts to cover the mechanisms behind various sensor modalities and algorithms commonly used for muscle tracking, as well as establish the current state of applications within the field. Given its multidisciplinary nature and ability to free users from rehabilitation constraints, the field of muscle tracking holds significant promise for future study.

The circulation cooling system is an important auxiliary system in industry and has great potential for saving energy. However, a holistic energy savings retrofit of the system can cause high costs and a low input–output ratio. To address this problem, this paper integrates grey correlation analysis and partial correlation analysis to propose a new energy savings bottleneck diagnosis method for the circulating cooling system. This method deeply analyzes the operation mechanism of the industrial circulating cooling system and summarizes the main energy‐savings factor. Through the energy savings bottleneck diagnosis method based on grey correlation analysis and partial correlation analysis, the energy savings correlation coefficient and energy savings difference coefficient are calculated, and the relationship between each energy savings factor and the specific energy consumption is accurately described and quantified. Furthermore, the system energy savings bottleneck diagnosis is performed and the quantified energy savings priority of each system link is obtained. It can effectively guide the implementation of system energy savings optimization and retrofit. Finally, the effectiveness of the diagnosis method is demonstrated by simulation verification with actual network data.

Optimization of the Conditions for Plasmid DNA Delivery and Transfection with Self-Assembled Hyaluronic Acid-Based Nanoparticles

Polymeric systems have been extensively studied as polyelectrolyte complexes to enhance the cellular delivery and transfection efficiency of genetic materials, such as plasmid DNA (pDNA). Here, self-assembled nanoparticles were formulated by complexation of hyaluronic acid (HA)-conjugated poly(ethylene glycol) (HA–PEG) and poly(ethylenimine) (HA–PEI), respectively, with pDNA creating relatively small, stable, and multifunctional nanoparticle complex formulations with high transfection efficiency. This formulation strategy offers high gene expression efficiency and negligible cytotoxicity in HeLa and A549 human lung cancer cell lines. To develop the ideal formulation, in vitro transfection efficiency was studied for three different nanoparticle formulations (HA–PEI/HA–PEG, HA–PEI, and HA–PEG) with different concentrations. The combination of the three polymers (HA, PEG, and PEI) was significant for the formulation to achieve the maximum gene expression results. The nanoparticles were found to be stable for up to a week at 4 °C conditions. Overall, these HA-based nanoparticles showed promising aspects that can be utilized in the designing of gene delivery vectors for cancer therapy.
