Abstract:Hyperkalemia in end stage renal disease patients is a common complication. Sodium polystyrene sulfonate (Kayexalate) is a commonly used in the treatment of hyperkalemia. This case report discusses about Kayexalateinduced colonic necrosis, a rare but fatal complication of this commonly used medication.
