“…In pediatric overdoses, cyproheptadine causes anticholinergic effects similar to other firstgeneration antihistamines. In one case report of a 4-year-old child who ingested 22.5 mg, disorientation, ataxia, irritability, athetosis, mydriasis, tachycardia, hyperthermia to 38.8 C, meaningless speech, and intermittent crying spells occurred, all lasting less than a day [33]. A 7-year-old hemodialysis patient taking cyproheptadine 4 mg nightly to increase his appetite was accidentally raised to 8 mg twice daily.…”
