Acute toxicity test of detergent powder in silver carp (Hypophthalmicthys molitrix), common carp (Cyprinus carpio), goldfish (Carassius auratus) and roach (Rutilus rutilus caspicus)

Abstract: Different pollutants have undesirable effects on aquatic ecosystems, detergent powder is one of the elements in the sewages so study on the effects of this factor on aquatic animals is crucial. The aim of the present study was to investigate acute effects of detergents as potentially dangerous additive to assess mortality effects of this product on some cultured fish. Silver Carp (Hypophthalmicthys molitrix), Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio), Goldfish (Carassius auratus) and Roach (Rutilus rutilus caspicus) were … Show more

“…Toxicity of NPS‐CuO was estimated by methods of Montajami, Hajiahmadyan, and Vajargah, () and Hedayati and Salati () studies; lethal concentration of CuO‐NPs (For 50% of the population) in intervals of 24, 48, 72, and 96 hrs (LC 50 24 h, 48 h, 72 h, and 96 h) were calculated through Probit analysis with a 95% confidence by SPSS software (IBMSPSS Statistics 20); also LC10, LC20, LC30, LC40, LC50, LC60, LC70, LC80, LC90, and LC95 of CuO‐NPs at 24, 48, 72, and 96 hrs were calculated. The regressions between different concentrations of CuO‐NPs and mortality were calculated using Spearman test via SPSS software (IBM SPSS Statistics 20).…”

“…Excessive use of pesticides for pest control in farms, forests, and aquatic environments can cause extensive pollution in water, air, and soil [3][4][5][6]. While aquatic ecosystems are not target environment for the pesticides, the pollution caused by these substances tends to find its way into these ecosystems, causing genetic changes and biodiversity loss [7][8][9][10].…”
