Adaptive feedback suppression of unknown periodic components of acoustic noises with time-varying characteristics

Abstract: Effective attenuation of the noise level is an important problem in acoustic systems. In this paper, we propose a robust adaptive output feedback control scheme that can considerably attenuate narrow-band noises made up of periodic signals mixed with random noise in the presence of modeling uncertainties. The amplitude, phase and frequencies as well as the number of periodic terms are unknown and could vary with time. The performance and robustness of the proposed scheme with respect to unstructured modeling u… Show more

“…Therefore, cab acoustic comfort is one of the most important evaluation indexes of ride comfort and attracts increasing attention from people. 13 The working condition of heavy commercial vehicles is complex and volatile, and such vehicles often travel in bad road conditions. While the vehicle is moving, the structures, especially the cab walls, produce intense vibration and noise when they are excited by various vibration sources; the cab interior noise seriously affects the ride comfort of the driver and easily induces driving fatigue and physical discomfort; such noise even results in error judgment and causes accidents.…”

“…In [23], an adaptive scheme has been proposed for unknown disturbance attenuation for multi-channel discrete-time systems in the absence of plant modeling uncertainties. A robust adaptive control law for single-input single-output discrete/continuous-time systems has been designed and analyzed in [24,25]. In this paper, we generalize the scheme of Jafari et al [24] and Jafari et al [25] to continuous-time multi-channel systems with possibly strong coupling between the channels.…”
