Address-crossing digital information processing on a self-aggregatable cyclodextrin derivative based nanosystem

Abstract: A novel pH-responsive and photo-isomerizing β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) derivative DACD was synthesized and fully characterized by 1 H-NMR, 13 C-NMR, and HRMS. At room temperature, this compound would self-assemble to layer aggregations in an aqueous environment. The aggregated state can reversibly switch to a monomeric solution state attributed to the hydrophobic competition of an additional substance to the β-CD cavity. This self-aggregatable cyclodextrin derivative based nanosystem functioned by switching between… Show more

“…39 For its conformational and size matching, cyanostilbene can also be encapsulated by the cavity of cyclodextrin through the host-guest complexation, forming supramolecular architectures. 40 On account of its distinctive structure features, cyanostilbene was even employed in synthetic methodology studies. 41 This short review summarizes the emerging research progress on a type of featured p-conjugated skeleton-cyanostilbene, which stands out for its multi-responsive, modiable, and luminescent characteristics.…”

“…As a derivative of DMPHA (( Z )‐3‐(4‐(dimethyl‐amino)phenyl)‐2‐(4‐hydroxy‐phenyl)acrylonitrile), the monomer of CPMA is also a typical donor–π‐acceptor (D–π‐A) structure with a broad absorption band resulting from an ultrafast process of intramolecular charge transfer (ICT). Actually, the ICT mechanism of DMPHA derivatives has been exploited for pH sensing and molecular switching 37. Along with increasing solvent polarity, the dipole–dipole forces in the system of DMPHA derivatives become stronger, thus resulting in a larger charge transfer from the donor moiety of an amino group to the acceptor moiety of a DPAC (( Z )‐2, 3‐diphenyl‐acrylonitrile) group.…”
