“Adherence” and “compliance” in the treatment of psoriasis – literature review

Abstract

Przegląd Dermatologiczny 2016/2 153 StreSzczenie Łuszczyca, jedna z najczęstszych przewlekłych chorób skóry, stanowi nie tylko istotny problem zdrowotny, lecz także społeczno-ekonomiczny. Wyniki leczenia tego schorzenia wciąż są niesatysfakcjonują-ce, na co wpływ ma poziom przestrzegania zaleceń terapeutycznych przez pacjentów (adherence i compliance). Jak wykazano w badaniach, im wyższy jest poziom przestrzegania zaleceń terapeutycznych, tym efekty leczenia są lepsze, a koszty terapii mniejsze. Niestety wyniki badań wskazują na niski poziom przestrzegania zaleceń przez pacjentów z łuszczycą, a zarówno chorzy, jak i lekarze wciąż nie są dostatecznie świadomi, jak dużą rolę w terapii odgrywają te elementy. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań wyróżnia się trzy główne grupy czynników będących przyczyną niestosowania się pacjentów do zaleceń terapeutycznych: czynniki dotyczące pacjenta i jego zachowań zdrowotnych, czynniki związane z terapią łuszczycy oraz czynniki związane z funkcjonowaniem systemu opieki zdrowotnej. AbStrActPsoriasis, being one of the most common, chronic skin diseases, is not only an important health problem but also a socio-economic issue. The outcome of psoriasis therapy is still unsatisfactory and is influenced by the level of patient compliance and adherence. Outcomes are better with a higher level of compliance, as demonstrated in the studies, and the cost of treatment is lower. Unfortunately, study results indicate a low level of adherence and compliance in patients with psoriasis, and patients and doctors are still not sufficiently aware of the role of these factors in therapy. Based on the studies, there are three main groups of factors which cause non-compliance of patients with treatment recommendations: factors relating to the patient and their health behaviors, factors associated with psoriasis therapy and factors related to the functioning of the health care system.Przestrzeganie zaleceń terapeutycznych przez chorych na łuszczycę -przegląd piśmiennictwa "Adherence" and "compliance" in the treatment of psoriasis -literature review
