Abstract:A computational tool has been developed to compute transient surface temperature utilizing basic flight parameters such as altitude, Mach number and angle of attack. An explicit finite difference technique is used to discretize the governing differential equations that account for convection and radiation heat transfer with non-reactive chemistry. Different approaches are applied to two different surface types; thermally thin and thermally thick. The Biot number criterion between the wall and the surrounding a… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
