AHP Model for Identifying Best Health Care Establishment

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to develop an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) model utilizing components, parameters, and factors of a specifically designed Integrated Quality Model for Health Care Establishment (HCE). In doing so, the authors have utilized AHP approach to identify the best health care service quality performer among alternatives of HCEs. To select the best HCE, three HCEs of North India namely: HCE-A; HCE-B; and HCE-C were chosen. The criteria components of the integrated quality model for the … Show more

“…This phase examines whether the pairs obtained are sufficiently consistent or not. There may be chances of some inconsistencies during the evaluation process of pair-wise comparisons and the AHP takes care of these inconsistencies in the model (Talib et al , 2011; Azam et al , 2015). Consistency Ratio (CR) is used to check these inconsistencies and is obtained from the ratio of the consistency of the results being tested to the consistency of the same problem evaluated with a random number.…”

“…The AHP is a multiple criteria decision making method that utilizes pairwise comparisons to select the best alternative given a set of criteria (Basak, 2018;Fico, Gaeta, Arredondo, & Pecchia, 2015;Hummel, Bridges, & Ijzerman, 2014;Liberatore & Nydick, 2008;Mohammad, Qureshi, & Faisal, 2015;Saaty, 2013;Toth & Vacik, 2018). The alternatives and criteria underlying a problem are presented in a hierarchy, where pairwise comparisons are conducted to ascertain "… the impact of items on one level of the hierarchy on the next higher level" (Liberatore & Nydick, 2008, p. 195).…”

“…The process is advantageous in circumstances where it is difficult to establish the relative weight and/or value of each alternative (Render, Stair, & Hanna, 2011). Additionally, the process has been described as favourable compared with other multiple criteria decision making methods as it measures and considers the inconsistency level across judgements throughout evaluation (Liberatore & Nydick, 2008;Mohammad et al, 2015).…”
