Prototypes are useful beyond usability testing; they're a strategic tool to drive alignment, to communicate value and vision, and to get digital products built correctly in a more efficient manner. They help teams move quickly by making instead of swirling in ideas. Through her work at IBM and currently as a Creative Director at the digital product design agency, argodesign, Kathryn Marinaro has found that the best practical uses for prototypes are for qualitative and strategic purposes. In this keynote, Kathryn will share her experience creating and utilizing prototypes to generate ideas with subject matter experts, to understand resonance and value with endusers, to explore new interaction models for emerging technology, and to communicate visions to stakeholders who control the direction of a product. She'll share examples of prototypes used throughout the process of the programs she leads and their outcomes and impact. Prototypes aren't just for testing, they're for delivering value.Kathryn Marinaro is an award-winning Creative Director who envisions the future and develops products and strategies for a wide variety of clients at argodesign. She is the author of Prototyping for Designers, published by O'Reilly, and has employed user-centered methodologies to create and iterate on impactful experiences in health wearables, AI interaction patterns, AI image recognition and training interfaces, and cloud development tools, while working on world-class design teams like IBM Watson Visioneering and IBM Mobile Innovation Lab. Artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked widespread discussion across various sectors globally while triggering a transformation in the design industry. In recent years, the evolution of AI has started to reshape how people work and live. As such, the human-robot collaboration model is gradually emerging as a pivotal force driving innovation and boosting efficiency. As it rapidly advances, AI technology can process a vast amount of data while performing complex tasks and assisting designers with intricate and creative work. By automating repetitive, low-value tasks using AI technology, designers can focus on activities that require intensive creativity, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. The present case study examines how human-robot collaboration elicits advantages in creative design. An analysis of the AI-assisted visual design project "ZhuoluFantasie" indicates that complementary human-AI collaboration can enhance design efficiency and assist designers in transcending creative boundaries. Through the process of content planning, text generation, graphics generation, graphics selection, confirmation, and finalization, the 7000 images were ultimately condensed into 27 AI-assisted visual designs. This provides opportunities for cross-field collaboration while introducing new possibilities into the creative design field.

The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) has changed traditional methods of value co-creation. Diverging from traditional methods, this study discusses the influencing factors of AI-supported consumer value co-creation from the perspective of human-to-non-human interactions. This study adopts the stimulus–organism–response framework with consumer engagement (CE) as the intermediary to explore the impact of consumers’ personal subjective factors, community factors, and perceptions of AI technology on their value co-creating behaviors. Data were collected from 528 respondents from the Huawei Huafen Club, Xiaomi BBS, Apple China Virtual Brand, Micromobile Phone, and Lenovo communities. SPSS Amos software was used for statistical analysis, revealing that perceived personalization, autonomy, community identity, trust in AI, and self-efficacy are motivational factors that have significant effects on consumer value co-creation behaviors, in which CE plays a significant intermediary role. Our study contributes to the literature on consumer value co-creation supported by AI technology. We also offer important insights for developers of AI-enabled products and service managers.
