“…Yet, the predispositional factors assessed in these scales are not necessarily the same factors which predict non-inebriated aggressive behavior. Further, in a number of experimental studies where predispositional and situational variables are manipulated in the same experiment [Buikhuisen et al, 1984;Lindman, 1985;Boyatzis, 1975], conclusivity is lacking in establishing whether or not highly aggressive individuals behave more aggressively than less aggressive individuals when intoxicated.…”

“…Some investigation have reported that verbal IQ is more strongly associated with delinquency than performance IQ (Moffitt et al, 1981; Reichel & Magnusson, 1988; West & Farrington, 1973). In a prospective longitudinal study of a subsample of a Danish birth cohort, Buikhuisen, Bontekoe, Plas-Korenhoff, and Meijs (1988) used path analysis and found a strong direct, negative relationship between verbal ability and juvenile delinquency but no direct connection between spatial ability and juvenile delinquency. Among adjudicated males, differences relative to normal populations have been found, especially for the verbal intelligence component (Prentice & Kelly, 1963), and verbal intelligence reportedly distinguishes violent from nonviolent offenders more effectively than does performance intelligence (Lewis et al, 1980).…”
