“…Positive result on AUDIT was shown to be more common among those with a high and moderate level of psychological distress compared to those with a low level of psychological distress. Previous Ethiopian research 29,62,63 supports the findings. The result might be that during and after crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, greater psychological distress produced by a combination of financial hardships, social isolation, and uncertainty about the future might aggravate patterns of alcohol consumption and increase attributable harm and could be inferred as handling approaches for the disaster.…”
