“…Furthermore, Benrabah continues that after almost six centuries of Roman occupation in North Africa, and with Vandal and Byzantine invasions in the 5 th and 6 th centuries CE, respectively, leaving no tangible linguistic impact in the region, the introduction of Islam by Arabs in 647/648 CE signaled the first Arabization process in the history of Algeria.
